Standard Life Investments has favourably compared Liverpool's commercial property sector with London's.

Speaking at the launch of Liverpool's 5 St Paul's Square on Old Hall Street, portfolio manager David Fleetwood said the development easily rivals similar properties in London, reports the Daily Post.

Bank of Scotland Corporate and law firm DWF have taken 11,950 sq ft and 44,000 sq ft respectively at the development.

"Liverpool's office market was under the radar for a long time, but we re-visited the city a year ago and saw a marked change," he told the paper.

"This development compares with the best London can offer."

5 St Pauls Square comprises five buildings and provides a total of 133,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation.
