It will celebrate the making of Of Time and the City, one of three micro-budget feature films currently being made in Liverpool.
Northwest Vision and Media, which works on behalf of the TV, film, radio and digital content industries to grow a world-class media economy in the region, has been working with the UK Film Council and the BBC to showcase the film at Cannes.
Of Time and the City is due to be premiered in Liverpool in the autumn as part of the city's 08 Capital of Culture celebrations.
Culture secretary Andy Burnham will attend the breakfast event, which organisers hope will help demonstrate how the northwest is leading the way in micro-budget feature film production.
Northwest Vision and Media has film offices in Liverpool, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Cumbria and Lancashire.
