According to the North West Evening Mail, a thoroughfare which will bypass the community living in the area is likely to be created soon.
Local people have been campaigning for a road to be built for some time, as all the traffic going to and from the site has been going past their homes.
Mike Baker, director of regeneration of urban regeneration firm West Lakes Renaissance, commented: "We are still on programme to achieve the approvals we need, planning and funding, by the end of October."
He said if this is achieved, work on the road will start immediately and be completed a year later.
The Waterfront Business Park site covers 23 hectares of land and is located less a mile from the centre of Barrow.
