Pharmaceutical sector to hold conference in Manchester
05/08/2008
The three-day conference, which is a chance for scientists and researchers to gather to discuss the latest advances in the pharmaceutical sector, is expected to attract around 1,000 delegates.
Manchester Central is the new name for Manchester International Convention Centre and G-Mex. It has hosted thousands of important conferences, including several BPS gatherings and the famous 2006 Labour autumn conference where Tony Blair gave his final address to the party.
"It is an exceptional venue with all the facilities we require and Manchester's infrastructure makes the city easily accessible for our national and international visitors," said conference committee chairman John Gentle.
Last year's conference, which had as its theme 'the medicines maze: balancing risks and benefits', was sponsored by Cheshire-based AstraZeneca and pharmacy retail giant Boots.
